Sonny Kalsi is President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SLC Management – Sun Life’s institutional investment management business and group of global asset managers that offer a diverse range of traditional and alternative asset classes including public and private fixed income, infrastructure equity, and real estate equity and debt.
Previously, Sonny served as Co-CEO of BGO, the business through which we offer real estate equity and debt strategies. BGO is a global real estate investment management advisor and a globally recognized provider of real estate services.
Sonny was a co-founder of GreenOak Real Estate in 2010 and worked with the team to grow the business prior to its 2019 merger with Bentall Kennedy. Before co-founding GreenOak Real Estate, Sonny was the Global Co-Head of Morgan Stanley’s Real Estate Investing (MSREI) business and President of the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds until 2009. Throughout his career, Sonny has lived and worked in various leadership capacities in six different countries.
Sonny has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Georgetown University and is a member of their Board of Directors. In 2025, Sonny was recognized by PERE for his leadership and global influence in private equity real estate. He is very involved in several educationally focused organizations including Room to Read, Teaching Matters and the PREA Foundation.
